From the project

A simple MP3/WAV/FLAC player using CF card

KiCad 8 design files for the rev3 CF MP3 Player board, the board the firmware in this repository targets (BOARDREV3=1`, the default build). The silkscreen reads "CF Card MP3 Player V2.1"; the firmware and docs call this board rev3.

The schematic is also available as a PDF.

The Gerbers match the fabricated rev3 boards. Compared with the set sent to fab on 2026-06-19, the only differences are the board's position on the sheet and one F.Cu copper-pour outline that moved by up to 0.12 mm when the zones were refilled. Tracks, pads, vias, mask, paste, silkscreen, outline and drill hits are…

Cf mp3-player: common questions

What microcontroller does the Cf mp3-player use?

The Cf mp3-player is built around the RP2354B, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Cf mp3-player PCB?

The Cf mp3-player measures 62.8 × 61.7 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Cf mp3-player?

111 components, from 51 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Cf mp3-player design files?

From the will127534/cf-mp3-player repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Cf mp3-player design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which will127534 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Cf mp3-player without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
