About the Petdisk esp32 PCB

Petdisk esp32 is an open source ESP32 PCB design by yo5ptd, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 75 × 49.8 mm, with 31 components from 15 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-32D, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the SN74LVC245APW and AMS1117-3.3. By type, the board carries 13 resistors, 5 transistors, 4 connectors, 3 ICs, 3 capacitors and 1 diode.

CBM PETDISK based on Esp32 and MicroSD

As per bitfixer's Petdisk V2 Max https://github.com/bitfixer/petdisk-max . Ports as per https://github.com/svenpetersen1965/PET-IEEE-488-Extension .

I've only changed the SD slot to Hanbo Electric TS-013 as this was available at JLCPCB.

Panelized with Kikit addon with hand-breakable "mousebytes", it still fits the 100x100 mm JLCPCB limit (Kikit.json settings included, details in https://github.com/yaqwsx/KiKit).

Petdisk esp32: common questions

What microcontroller does the Petdisk esp32 use?

The Petdisk esp32 is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32D, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Petdisk esp32 PCB?

The Petdisk esp32 measures 75 × 49.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Petdisk esp32?

31 components, from 15 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Petdisk esp32 design files?

From the yo5ptd/petdisk-esp32 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Petdisk esp32 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which yo5ptd chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Petdisk esp32 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
