About the Hackpadplusplus PCB

Hackpadplusplus is an open source Nordic nRF PCB design by 0x62b, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 88.2 × 64.8 mm, with 21 components from 6 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-nRF52840-SMD, from the Nordic nRF family. Other key parts include the ER_OLEDM0.91_1x-I2C. By type, the board carries 12 diodes, 7 switches and 2 ICs.

It belongs with the iot & wireless, keyboards and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

hackpad pro max premium plus flip fold ultra 5G (6 key hotswappable rgb backlit wireless macropad with an encoder and oled)

Rn the firmware is in a really really really stripped down state because I want to get the physical thing before trying to make more firmware since it keeps breaking the build

According to ZMK's power profiler we should get about 21 hours of battery life with the RGB at 20% brightness

Hackpadplusplus: common questions

What microcontroller does the Hackpadplusplus use?

The Hackpadplusplus is built around the XIAO-nRF52840-SMD, from the Nordic nRF family.

How big is the Hackpadplusplus PCB?

The Hackpadplusplus measures 88.2 × 64.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Hackpadplusplus?

21 components, from 6 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Hackpadplusplus design files?

From the 0x62b/hackpadplusplus repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Hackpadplusplus design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with 0x62b. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Hackpadplusplus without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Nordic nRF firmware against it before you order a PCB.
