The hardware consists entirely of three PCBs without an enclosure with low profile hinges and a battery system that has yet to be worked out. The PCBs are designed in KiCAD and are as follows:

- The controller arm (hardware/armmcu) which houses the microcontroller (STM32G071KBU6), a microphone (SPH0641LM4H-1) and a 3v3 linear regulator. - The power arm (hardware/armpower) which houses input power protection, an on switch, 5v5 switching regulator and a power good indicator. - The front display (hardware/frontdisplay) which houses the LED matrix (SK6812MINI`).

Controller b r1: common questions

What microcontroller does the Controller b r1 use?

The Controller b r1 is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Controller b r1 PCB?

The Controller b r1 measures 131.5 × 13 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6262 mm thick.

How many components are on the Controller b r1?

45 components, from 22 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Controller b r1 design files?

From the 4lml4/LED_Glasses repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Controller b r1 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with 4lml4. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Controller b r1 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
