rp2354 e-ink badges for outpost hackathon!

These are e-ink badges that I made for Outpost! They're built with the RP2354 and have an onboard e-ink driver - I also did the art on it :D

Includes: - 2.9in e-ink screen - NFC capabilities - 6 tactile buttons that snap right onto the board - 15 additional gpio pins broken out to use with the perfboard at the bottom - USB-C for power and programming - 3 lanyard holes that fit single + double clip lanyards, and badge clips - 4 mounting holes in case you want to 3d print a case

Outpost badge: common questions

What microcontroller does the Outpost badge use?

The Outpost badge is built around the RP2350_60QFN, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Outpost badge PCB?

The Outpost badge measures 108.2 × 99.1 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Outpost badge?

75 components, from 37 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Outpost badge design files?

From the acornitum/outpost-badge repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Outpost badge design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with acornitum. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Outpost badge without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
