About the PicoTracker th PCB

PicoTracker th is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by alexbonhomme, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 91.4 × 110 mm, with 29 components from 29 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the MICROSD_SPI_OR_SDIO_CARD, CR2013-MI2120, 6N138, GY-PCM5102 and Lipo Rider Plus. By type, the board carries 10 switches, 5 resistors, 4 connectors, 3 ICs, 3 modules and 2 diodes.

It belongs with the audio and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

[WIP] DIY friendly through-hole PCB version for picoTracker

picoTracker TH PCB is a beginner DIY-friendly, through-hole focused hardware remix for building a picoTracker-compatible device with hand-solderable parts.

This project is inspired by the alternative PCB work from ijnekenamay and adapts the concept toward a through-hole/component-module assembly style to make first builds easier.

PicoTracker th: common questions

What microcontroller does the PicoTracker th use?

The PicoTracker th is built around the RaspberryPi_Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the PicoTracker th PCB?

The PicoTracker th measures 91.4 × 110 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PicoTracker th?

29 components, from 29 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PicoTracker th design files?

From the alexbonhomme/picoTracker-th-pcb repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PicoTracker th design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with alexbonhomme. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the PicoTracker th without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
