About the Divtiesus maple PCB

Divtiesus maple is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by anarsoul, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 76.5 × 56.9 mm, with 41 components from 22 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP-12E, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the EPM240T100, 628128, 28C64, LM1117MP-3.3 and 74HCT165D. By type, the board carries 15 capacitors, 11 resistors, 6 ICs, 3 connectors, 3 switches and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

You can buy me a coffee if you want to say thank you.

- The oscillator does not need to be 24 MHz, but if you use a different value, you'll have to resynthesize CPLD image, otherwise WiFi will not work - I usually start with placing the CPLD first and programming it. Note: you'll need to supply 3.3V in order to program CPLD, there are GND and 3.3V test points left for this purpose. I source CPLDs from Aliexpress and some of them are coming dead. It is easier to test and replace it before the rest of the components are populated. - Then place the passives (resistors, resistor arrays…

Divtiesus maple: common questions

What microcontroller does the Divtiesus maple use?

The Divtiesus maple is built around the ESP-12E, from the ESP8266 family.

How big is the Divtiesus maple PCB?

The Divtiesus maple measures 76.5 × 56.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Divtiesus maple?

41 components, from 22 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Divtiesus maple design files?

From the anarsoul/divtiesus_maple repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Divtiesus maple design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which anarsoul chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Divtiesus maple without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
