About the WBO PCB

WBO is an open source STM32 PCB design by andreika-git, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 24.6 × 14 mm, with 63 components from 29 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F042K6Tx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the MCP6004, AD8628, REF3033, XC6206P332MR and TJA1051T/3/1J. By type, the board carries 31 resistors, 19 capacitors, 6 ICs, 5 diodes, 1 module and 1 transistor.

If you are designing a new ECU frame see https://github.com/andreika-git/hellen-one/tree/master/modules

doThis folder contains module source files, not reusable resulting frames like here.

See https://github.com/andreika-git/hellen-one/wiki/scripts-howto#how-to-create-a-module

The export scripts in bin/ target KiCad 10 (kicad-cli). export.sh runs from a board repository root (reads revision.txt) and writes gerber/: gerbers with zones refilled in-memory, drill, position CSV, netlist + BOM CSV (via hellen-one-kicad-bom-plugin.py), schematic PDF and VRML. The board file itself is not modified.

WBO: common questions

What microcontroller does the WBO use?

The WBO is built around the STM32F042K6Tx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the WBO PCB?

The WBO measures 24.6 × 14 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the WBO?

63 components, from 29 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the WBO design files?

From the andreika-git/hellen-one repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the WBO design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with andreika-git. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the WBO without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
