About the Openradfan PCB

Openradfan is an open source PCB design by andrekuehne, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 65 × 70 mm, with 43 components from 28 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the SN74AHCT125N, AP63205WU and BTS462TATMA1. By type, the board carries 10 connectors, 7 capacitors, 7 resistors, 5 test points, 5 diodes and 3 ICs.

It belongs with the iot & wireless, sensors and power & battery designs in this gallery.

An ESPHome-driven controller for radiator fans to improve heat output

Classical radiators (K2/K3) typically require relatively high flow temperatures to heat up a room. Using forced convection can significally enhance their efficiency, especially at low flow temperatures. While there are a number of commercial solutions available, these did not need my needs. They are either too loud while running or switching on/off using a relais, don't properly switch at low flow temperatures, are too expensive or simply not powerful enough. Hence, I set out to build my own solution using standard 120/140mm PWM-capable PC fans. High-end fans run at low speeds (<500 RMP) are…
