About the Project tarkus PCB

Project tarkus is an open source STM32 PCB design by blfp1, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 94 × 48 mm, with 46 components from 28 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32G030K6Tx, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the LD1117S33TR_SOT223, USBLC6-2SC6, MCP2200-I-SO and 24LC512. By type, the board carries 14 resistors, 13 capacitors, 6 connectors, 5 ICs, 3 diodes and 2 crystals.

It belongs with the iot & wireless, displays & leds and dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

From the project

Custom development board based on STM32G030K6T6, featuring Bluetooth LE (HM-10), OLED support, and USB-C connectivity. Designed in KiCad.

The project started as a requirement for the PBLE01 course at UNIFEI. The original specification required a 16x2 LCD and a temperature sensor. I decided to modernize the scope by replacing these with a 1.3" OLED Display and a Bluetooth LE module, creating a more versatile platform for IoT projects.

Project tarkus: common questions

What microcontroller does the Project tarkus use?

The Project tarkus is built around the STM32G030K6Tx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Project tarkus PCB?

The Project tarkus measures 94 × 48 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Project tarkus?

46 components, from 28 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Project tarkus design files?

From the blfp1/project-tarkus repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Project tarkus design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with blfp1. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Project tarkus without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
