About the Dev Board

Dev Board is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by camaradadasausturias-art, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 21.8 × 52.5 mm, with 33 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the NCP1117-3.3_SOT223 and W25Q128JVS. By type, the board carries 17 capacitors, 7 resistors, 3 ICs, 3 connectors and 1 switch.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts designs in this gallery.

Simple dev board inspired by the raspberry Pi Pico

Hey there, fellow human! I'm a portuguese 17 year old highschooler with aspirations of getting into aerospacial engineering one day. And since I know how important it is to start building experience early, I decided to try out a hackclub starter project. And what an undertaking this was. I picked the "Design a custom PCB" thinking it couldnt be THAT hard. Yeah no, hard would be the understatement of the century. I had hardly ever touched a CAD program in my life, and KiCAD looked like it'd have a very sharp looking skill curve. As it did indeed. But I presevered. Despite me relentlessly…

Dev Board: common questions

What microcontroller does the Dev Board use?

The Dev Board is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Dev Board?

The Dev Board measures 21.8 × 52.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Dev Board?

33 components, from 18 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Dev Board design files?

From the camaradadasausturias-art/MsDb-1 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Dev Board design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with camaradadasausturias-art. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Dev Board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
