About the Garage133 PCB

Garage133 is an open source ESP32 PCB design by chl33, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 4-layer board measuring 97.8 × 39.4 mm, with 52 components from 26 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3.3 and SHTC3. By type, the board carries 8 resistors, 3 ICs, 3 transistors, 2 connectors, 2 relays and 2 LEDs.

It belongs with the iot & wireless, sensors and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

A DIY device for garage door automation

Garage133 is a DIY garage door automation and monitoring system based on the ESP32. It provides capability to remotely control up to two garage doors, monitor their state (open/closed), detect vehicle presence, measure environmental conditions (temperature/humidity), and detect motion within the garage.

The system is designed to integrate seamlessly with Home Assistant via MQTT but also provides a modern, responsive Svelte-based Web Interface for control and configuration.

Garage133: common questions

What microcontroller does the Garage133 use?

The Garage133 is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Garage133 PCB?

The Garage133 measures 97.8 × 39.4 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Garage133?

52 components, from 26 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Garage133 design files?

From the chl33/Garage133 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Garage133 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which chl33 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Garage133 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
