About the Wiflier PCB
Wiflier is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by cnlohr, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 37.8 × 21.5 mm, with 57 components from 40 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP8266EX, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the MCP1824/3.0, BMP085, LSM9DS1, W25Q80DV and ATTINY441-QFN. By type, the board carries 22 connectors, 11 capacitors, 7 ICs, 5 diodes, 5 resistors and 4 transistors.
It belongs with the robotics & motion, sensors and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

WARNING: This project is still in its early stages! It doesn't fly yet!
WARNING: Everything surrounding a control loop in control.c for flight IS SUPER JANKEY AND TOTALLY NOT HOW IT SHOULD BE!
WARNING: When I operated the PWM at 3kHz, I had to modify my current board to add pullups on the I2C and short out the AVR's reset to VBat, otherwise it seemed to reboot randomly during flight.

Wiflier: common questions
What microcontroller does the Wiflier use?
The Wiflier is built around the ESP8266EX, from the ESP8266 family.
How big is the Wiflier PCB?
The Wiflier measures 37.8 × 21.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Wiflier?
57 components, from 40 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Wiflier design files?
From the cnlohr/wiflier repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Wiflier design in my own project?
Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which cnlohr chose for the repository.
Can I test firmware for the Wiflier without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
