About the BurgerDisk-SMD PCB

BurgerDisk-SMD is an open source AVR/Arduino PCB design by colinleroy, published on GitHub under the MIT license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 65.1 × 97 mm, with 18 components from 17 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ATmega328P-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family. Other key parts include the PC817C-S. By type, the board carries 6 resistors, 5 connectors, 3 diodes, 2 ICs, 1 crystal and 1 capacitor.

A daisy-chainable Smartport hard drive for the Apple II

In this directory are the Kicad sources for the different PCBs. Variations exist: - -Angled: For a right-angle, PCB-type DB19F connector (otherwise, panel-mount (solder cups) connector required) - -THT: Through-hold PCB. Will require an Arduino and SD module - *-SMD: SMD PCB with the Atmega328p integrated, and the microSD where applicable

PCBs families: - BurgerDisk: The simpler PCB, with more enclosures options (Full or micro SD) - Mini: Everything integrated, for the Mini enclosure - Domino: Everything integrated, as small as possible. - (micro)SD-module: the card readers for the BurgerDisk

BurgerDisk-SMD: common questions

What microcontroller does the BurgerDisk-SMD use?

The BurgerDisk-SMD is built around the ATmega328P-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the BurgerDisk-SMD PCB?

The BurgerDisk-SMD measures 65.1 × 97 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the BurgerDisk-SMD?

18 components, from 17 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the BurgerDisk-SMD design files?

From the colinleroy/BurgerDisk repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the BurgerDisk-SMD design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which colinleroy chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the BurgerDisk-SMD without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
