A daisy-chainable Smartport hard drive for the Apple II

In this directory are the Kicad sources for the different PCBs. Variations exist: - -Angled: For a right-angle, PCB-type DB19F connector (otherwise, panel-mount (solder cups) connector required) - -THT: Through-hold PCB. Will require an Arduino and SD module - *-SMD: SMD PCB with the Atmega328p integrated, and the microSD where applicable

PCBs families: - BurgerDisk: The simpler PCB, with more enclosures options (Full or micro SD) - Mini: Everything integrated, for the Mini enclosure - Domino: Everything integrated, as small as possible. - (micro)SD-module: the card readers for the BurgerDisk

DominoDisk-THT: common questions

What microcontroller does the DominoDisk-THT use?

The DominoDisk-THT is built around the Arduino_Nano_v3.x, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the DominoDisk-THT PCB?

The DominoDisk-THT measures 45.7 × 38.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the DominoDisk-THT?

14 components, from 14 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the DominoDisk-THT design files?

From the colinleroy/BurgerDisk repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the DominoDisk-THT design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which colinleroy chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the DominoDisk-THT without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
