About the Rev a physical PCB

Rev a physical is an open source PCB design by ddanila, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 200 × 200 mm, with 119 components from 46 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the Z80, 27C256, RT4 DECODE, RE3 PAGER and GAL22V10. By type, the board carries 44 resistors, 29 capacitors, 25 ICs, 13 connectors, 7 diodes and 1 fuse.

From the project

Status: EXPERIMENTAL, WITH TWO PHYSICAL TRACKS.

Status: EXPERIMENTAL, WITH TWO PHYSICAL TRACKS.

VJUGA explores a smaller +5 V, Z80-based board with socketed ROM, one 64 KiB 4164-style DRAM bank, keyboard I/O, and a VGA-oriented display path. It is an independent experiment, not the main Juku replica and not a released hardware product. The monolithic Rev A board remains on design hold. For modular Rev B, the active order target is a complete five-board first article with VGA and TTL serial; it remains on order hold while docs/rev-b-five-board-order-plan.md is executed.

Rev a physical: common questions

How big is the Rev a physical PCB?

The Rev a physical measures 200 × 200 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Rev a physical?

119 components, from 46 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Rev a physical design files?

From the ddanila/8080-cosim repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Rev a physical design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ddanila. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
