An automotive-grade, multi-protocol vehicle network interface, Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) filter, and wireless telemetry gateway
An automotive-grade, multi-protocol vehicle network interface, Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) filter, and wireless telemetry gateway. Rather than focusing on CAN alone, this board provides full hardware integration for all three common automotive ECU communication methods: 1. High-Speed CAN (HS-CAN / CAN FD) 2. Fault-Tolerant Low-Speed CAN (FT-CAN) 3. K-Line / LIN (ISO 9141-2 / ISO 14230 / LIN 2.x)

Automotive gateway: common questions
What microcontroller does the Automotive gateway use?
The Automotive gateway is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32UE, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Automotive gateway PCB?
The Automotive gateway measures 101.6 × 88.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Automotive gateway?
95 components, from 34 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Automotive gateway design files?
From the dexus1337/automotive-gateway repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Automotive gateway design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with dexus1337. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Automotive gateway without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
