About the EnvOpenAudio PCB

EnvOpenAudio is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by Envious-Data, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 21.3 × 68.7 mm, with 62 components from 30 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2350_60QFN, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the W25Q16JVUXIQ, TPS63001DRCR, TLV75518PDBV and TLV320AIC3100. By type, the board carries 36 capacitors, 13 resistors, 5 ICs, 3 connectors, 2 switches and 2 inductors.

It belongs with the audio designs in this gallery.

From the project

An open source headphone/PC speaker project utilizing the RP2040, UDA1334A and TPA2016

These board schematics are from adafruit, Ive imported them into KiCad and swapped the footprints to KiCad version, I will be attempting to make these boards smaller as well as removing some stuff I wont use but the good thing about this is if you want you can build this project out of such parts you can buy from adafruit or equivilent shops minus the 3d printed housings.

EnvOpenAudio: common questions

What microcontroller does the EnvOpenAudio use?

The EnvOpenAudio is built around the RP2350_60QFN, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the EnvOpenAudio PCB?

The EnvOpenAudio measures 21.3 × 68.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the EnvOpenAudio?

62 components, from 30 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the EnvOpenAudio design files?

From the Envious-Data/EnvOpenAudio repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the EnvOpenAudio design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which Envious-Data chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the EnvOpenAudio without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
