About the Psyduck gotchi PCB

Psyduck gotchi is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Er1n-jpg, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 70.6 × 76 mm, with 11 components from 7 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-ESP32-C3-SMD, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the HS96L03W2C03. By type, the board carries 3 switches, 2 ICs, 2 diodes, 2 resistors and 1 battery holder.

It belongs with the displays & leds and power & battery designs in this gallery.

Tamagotchi project made for fallout

Psyduck-gotchi (gotchu!) is a my very first project I ever made for fallout. I made this using the tamagotchi tutorial on the fallout site! A tamagotchi is basically a virtual pet you can take care of with stats indicating it's happiness, energy and hunger. It's a silly little thing that you can bring around and make you feel like you're taking care of something, Psyduck runs off an ESP32 with LIPO battery compatibility

Psyduck gotchi: common questions

What microcontroller does the Psyduck gotchi use?

The Psyduck gotchi is built around the XIAO-ESP32-C3-SMD, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Psyduck gotchi PCB?

The Psyduck gotchi measures 70.6 × 76 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Psyduck gotchi?

11 components, from 7 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Psyduck gotchi design files?

From the Er1n-jpg/Psyduck-gotchi repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Psyduck gotchi design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Er1n-jpg. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Psyduck gotchi without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
