About the EIT-Multiplexer PCB

EIT-Multiplexer is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by ErenErenel, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 76.6 × 79.4 mm, with 49 components from 21 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the NCP1117ST33T3G, W25Q128JVS, LM27761DSGR and ADG1606BCPZ-REEL7. By type, the board carries 28 capacitors, 8 ICs, 6 resistors, 2 connectors, 2 switches and 1 crystal.

From the project

EE499 Capstone — Low-power 16-channel analog multiplexer PCB for Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT). RP2040 + ADG1606, KiCad design files.

EE499 Capstone Project — Low-power analog multiplexer board for Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT).

This board drives a 16-channel analog multiplexer (ADG1606) controlled by an RP2040 microcontroller. It is designed for EIT data acquisition, where the multiplexer selects electrode channels to inject current and measure voltage.

Key ICs: - Raspberry Pi RP2040 — microcontroller - ADG1606 — 16:1 analog multiplexer - AP2112K — 5V to 3.3V LDO regulator - LM27761 — negative voltage converter (for symmetric supply)

The KiCad project lives in the ErenErenel/EIT-Multiplexer-PCB repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

EIT-Multiplexer: common questions

What microcontroller does the EIT-Multiplexer use?

The EIT-Multiplexer is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the EIT-Multiplexer PCB?

The EIT-Multiplexer measures 76.6 × 79.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1 mm thick.

How many components are on the EIT-Multiplexer?

49 components, from 21 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the EIT-Multiplexer design files?

From the ErenErenel/EIT-Multiplexer-PCB repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the EIT-Multiplexer design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-S-2.0 license, which ErenErenel chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the EIT-Multiplexer without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
