About the Cbm micropet PCB

Cbm micropet is an open source PCB design by fachat, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 190.2 × 100.3 mm, with 183 components from 81 distinct parts.

Other key parts include the IS61C5128AS-25QLI, SN74HCT245DWR, SN74HCT00DR, 7486D and SN74LS145N. By type, the board carries 71 capacitors, 37 resistors, 29 ICs, 10 jumpers, 10 diodes and 8 connectors.

It belongs with the retro computing designs in this gallery.

From the project

A small, single-PCB clone of the Commodore PET with all modern parts

Note: this is a part of a larger set of repositories, with upet_family as the main repository.

This is a re-incarnation of the Commodore PET computer(s) from the later 1970s.

It is build on a PCB slightly larger than a Eurocard board and has only parts that can still be obtained new in 2024. The current version is 3.0A

Cbm micropet: common questions

How big is the Cbm micropet PCB?

The Cbm micropet measures 190.2 × 100.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Cbm micropet?

183 components, from 81 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Cbm micropet design files?

From the fachat/cbm_micropet repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Cbm micropet design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which fachat chose for the repository.
