About the Folding ereader PCB
Folding ereader is an open source ESP32 PCB design by felix-myrie, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 86 × 46.7 mm, with 20 components from 12 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the XIAO-ESP32-C6-SMD, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the MCP23017X-X-SP. By type, the board carries 5 switches, 5 capacitors, 4 resistors, 3 connectors, 2 ICs and 1 battery holder.
It belongs with the displays & leds and power & battery designs in this gallery.

An e-reader fitting onto your keychain that folds open like a book
I am aiming to make a miniature DS-style folding clamshell e-reader, because I think it would be really awesome to constantly have access to my e-books on my keychain, and have a little device doing it that would have very long battery life. For the proof of concept it will not fold and will be quite bulky, but this will show that the design works and still be a functional e-reader, to find out for example the battery life and display readability is (does an e-reader this small even work). It's not perfect but will be a working prototype! Currently the PCB has additional room and routes so…

Folding ereader: common questions
What microcontroller does the Folding ereader use?
The Folding ereader is built around the XIAO-ESP32-C6-SMD, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Folding ereader PCB?
The Folding ereader measures 86 × 46.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Folding ereader?
20 components, from 12 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Folding ereader design files?
From the felix-myrie/folding-ereader repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Folding ereader design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with felix-myrie. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Folding ereader without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
