About the Fire-24-f PCB

Fire-24-f is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by fezzo2003, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 18.3 × 31.3 mm, with 44 components from 20 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2350_60QFN, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the 2332/2364 SOCKET, AP2112K-3.3 and USBLC6-2P6. By type, the board carries 19 capacitors, 11 resistors, 4 ICs, 4 connectors, 4 diodes and 1 crystal.

From the project

A second USB-C variant, retaining the RP2354A MCU.

A second USB-C variant, retaining the RP2354A MCU.

Changes from fire-24-e: - Adds a neo-pixel LED, sharing GPIO 29 with the status LED. - SEL pins have been swapped around for consistency with the latest 28, 32 and 40 pin designs. The two right-most SEL pins are now ADC (non-5V tolerant) pins, with the othe two being 5V tolerant. - A fraction of a mm narrower and shorter.

Fire-24-f: common questions

What microcontroller does the Fire-24-f use?

The Fire-24-f is built around the RP2350_60QFN, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Fire-24-f PCB?

The Fire-24-f measures 18.3 × 31.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Fire-24-f?

44 components, from 20 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Fire-24-f design files?

From the fezzo2003/onerom-honda repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Fire-24-f design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-W-2.0 license, which fezzo2003 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Fire-24-f without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
