My second custom split keyboard: qmk firmware, pcb, 3d files

This project details the design and construction of my first custom split keyboard. The build features a custom PCB, hand-soldered components, and a 3D-printed case, all powered by the Raspberry Pi Pico and QMK firmware.

Key Features: - Microcontroller: Raspberry Pi Pico (RP2040) - Firmware: QMK with Vial GUI support - Switches: Hot-swappable MX switches - Displays: OLED status screens - Input: Rotary encoders - Interconnect: RJ11 cabling for safe hot-plugging

Pcb keyboard left: common questions

What microcontroller does the Pcb keyboard left use?

The Pcb keyboard left is built around the Pico, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Pcb keyboard left?

The Pcb keyboard left measures 172.4 × 140.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Pcb keyboard left?

120 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Pcb keyboard left design files?

From the Gabriele-tomai00/split_keyboard_2_qmk_pcb repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Pcb keyboard left design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Gabriele-tomai00. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Pcb keyboard left without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
