About the TankSync-RX PCB

TankSync-RX is an open source ESP32 PCB design by gargsrishtii, published on GitHub under the CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 81 × 50 mm, with 20 components from 15 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-DEVKITC-VE, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the RYLR998. By type, the board carries 7 capacitors, 6 connectors, 5 resistors and 2 ICs.

It belongs with the iot & wireless, rf & radio and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

2-layer receiver PCB for TankSync wireless monitoring system — ESP32 + LoRa, KiCad 10.0

TankSync RX is the receiver-side PCB of a LoRa-based wireless monitoring system. It receives sensor data transmitted over 868/915 MHz LoRa and processes it via an ESP32 for display and relay control.

Key features: - ESP32-DevKitC-VE as the main controller (Wi-Fi + Bluetooth + dual-core) - RYLR998 LoRa UART module for long-range wireless communication - 1.3" OLED display connector (4-pin, I2C) - WS2812B LED data line with 470Ω series resistor - 3x status LEDs with 330Ω current-limiting resistors - JST PH 2.0mm power input connector - JST XH 3-pin connector for external sensor/data interface -…

TankSync-RX: common questions

What microcontroller does the TankSync-RX use?

The TankSync-RX is built around the ESP32-DEVKITC-VE, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the TankSync-RX PCB?

The TankSync-RX measures 81 × 50 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the TankSync-RX?

20 components, from 15 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the TankSync-RX design files?

From the gargsrishtii/TankSync-RX repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the TankSync-RX design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CERN-OHL-P-2.0 license, which gargsrishtii chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the TankSync-RX without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
