About the Jchc1-hardware PCB
Jchc1-hardware is an open source ESP32 PCB design by GutFarms, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 100 × 70 mm, with 15 components from 15 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R8, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the AMS1117-3.3, C167271, 1V8, TXS0108EPWR and INA219AIDCNR. By type, the board carries 6 ICs, 5 connectors, 2 switches, 1 fuse and 1 inductor.
From the project
1. Replace placeholder module footprints with exact library parts (ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, USB-C, regulators). 2. Schematic Editor → Annotate → Assign footprints from ../manufacturing/bom.csv. 3. Update PCB from Schematic, then route remaining signals (UART, I2C, USB). 4. Run DRC. Expo

The PCB file is a placement + plane starting point, not a finished DRC-clean route. Expect a short KiCad session to finish nets before fab.

Jchc1-hardware: common questions
What microcontroller does the Jchc1-hardware use?
The Jchc1-hardware is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R8, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the Jchc1-hardware PCB?
The Jchc1-hardware measures 100 × 70 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Jchc1-hardware?
15 components, from 15 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Jchc1-hardware design files?
From the GutFarms/jchc1-hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Jchc1-hardware design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with GutFarms. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Jchc1-hardware without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
