Sailor Hat for Raspberry Pi hardware design files

The Sailor Hat for Raspberry Pi (SH-RPi) is a versatile power management board designed for the Raspberry Pi and similar single-board computers. With the SH-RPi connected, you can create deeply integrated servers that shut down safely when power is turned off and wake up automatically when power is restored.

SH-RPi supports all Raspberry Pi models with a 40-pin GPIO header (every model since the Pi 1 Model B+). Additionally, it is compatible with Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 boards and other single-board computers that have a 40-pin Raspberry Pi-compatible GPIO header or an external I2C…

SH-RPi hardware: common questions

What microcontroller does the SH-RPi hardware use?

The SH-RPi hardware is built around the ATTINY1616-MNR, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the SH-RPi hardware PCB?

The SH-RPi hardware measures 65 × 56.5 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.5896 mm thick.

How many components are on the SH-RPi hardware?

153 components, from 78 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the SH-RPi hardware design files?

From the hatlabs/SH-RPi-hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the SH-RPi hardware design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CC-BY-4.0 license, which hatlabs chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the SH-RPi hardware without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
