From the project

The 2-Layer IoT Data Acquisition Board is an ESP32-based PCB designed for precision environmental monitoring. It integrates MQ-6 and BME280 sensors with an ADS1115 16-bit ADC and MCP6002 . Featuring on-board Micro SD logging and a 12V-to-3.3V power stack, it provides a robust, standalone solution for remote data acquisition.

This repository contains the design files and schematics for a custom 2-layer Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designed for high-efficiency IoT data acquisition. The board is engineered to interface high-precision analog and digital sensors with an ESP32 microcontroller, facilitating real-time data logging and output expansion.

2-Layer Optimized Design: Compact PCB layout with dedicated signal and power planes to minimize noise. High-Precision Analog Sensing: Integrated ADS1115 (or ADC121C021) 16-bit I2C ADC for superior data resolution. Buffered Signal Conditioning: MCP6002 Op-Amp integrated for…

Iot-Data-Acquisiton-Board: common questions

What microcontroller does the Iot-Data-Acquisiton-Board use?

The Iot-Data-Acquisiton-Board is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32U, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Iot-Data-Acquisiton-Board?

The Iot-Data-Acquisiton-Board measures 69 × 30.9 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Iot-Data-Acquisiton-Board?

19 components, from 11 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Iot-Data-Acquisiton-Board design files?

From the IEEE-VIT/Iot-Data-Acquisiton-Board repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Iot-Data-Acquisiton-Board design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which IEEE-VIT chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Iot-Data-Acquisiton-Board without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
