Kicad designs and libraries

These files have been created in prerelease version 6 of KiCAD. If Version 6 isn't released yet then to use them you will need to download a nightly build of KiCAD. NB Nightly builds my have issues so please check the issue tracker.

To generate proper SMT positioning file for JLCPCB use this script: ~/JLCKicadTools//jlckicadtools/generatejlcfiles.py -n AP3500 .

AP2000: common questions

What microcontroller does the AP2000 use?

The AP2000 is built around the RaspberryPiCM4Hirose, from the Raspberry Pi family.

How big is the AP2000 PCB?

The AP2000 measures 108 × 110 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the AP2000?

147 components, from 73 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the AP2000 design files?

From the imagestream/kicad repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the AP2000 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which imagestream chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the AP2000 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug Raspberry Pi firmware against it before you order a PCB.
