Plug the USB-C port in to your computer.

Now you can run the usb-c port off of a power brick or whatever

Speaker should show up in bluetooth as "speek-rx." Enjoy!

Line out and headphone jack are labeled in silkscreen

Speek rx: common questions

What microcontroller does the Speek rx use?

The Speek rx is built around the ESP32-PICO-V3-02, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Speek rx PCB?

The Speek rx measures 80 × 60 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Speek rx?

51 components, from 28 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Speek rx design files?

From the JBlitzar/speek repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Speek rx design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which JBlitzar chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Speek rx without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
