About the OSMC Receiver Translators PCB

OSMC Receiver Translators is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Koalaven, published on GitHub. It is a 4-layer board measuring 120.1 × 78.2 mm, with 65 components from 20 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the XIAO-ESP32-S3-DIP, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the 24AA02-OT, LTC4317, PCF8574DWR and OSMC Module Board. By type, the board carries 46 resistors, 15 ICs and 4 capacitors.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

A modular controller that can be configure to how you want to use it

Using a modular, reconfigurable hardware architecture to create a customizable USB HID game controller.

The Open Source Modular Controller project is a fully modular and customizable gaming input system. Users can freely rearrange joysticks, buttons, and future input modules on a set of interchangeable receiver boards to build a layout that fits their gameplay style, ergonomic needs, or accessibility requirements.

OSMC Receiver Translators: common questions

What microcontroller does the OSMC Receiver Translators use?

The OSMC Receiver Translators is built around the XIAO-ESP32-S3-DIP, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the OSMC Receiver Translators PCB?

The OSMC Receiver Translators measures 120.1 × 78.2 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.5604 mm thick.

How many components are on the OSMC Receiver Translators?

65 components, from 20 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the OSMC Receiver Translators design files?

From the Koalaven/Open-Source-Modular-Controller repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the OSMC Receiver Translators design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Koalaven. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the OSMC Receiver Translators without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
