About the ESP-relay-6ch PCB

ESP-relay-6ch is an open source ESP32 PCB design by koson, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 173 × 67.8 mm, with 109 components from 29 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-POE, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the L78M05ABDT-TR, D1 Mini Node MCU and LTV-817S-TA1-C. By type, the board carries 42 resistors, 24 diodes, 9 ICs, 9 capacitors, 7 connectors and 6 transistors.

From the project

ESP8266/ESP32 based board with 6x 24 VDC inputs and 6x 10A relay outputs.

ESP8266/ESP32 based board with 6x 24 VDC inputs and 6x 10A relay outputs.

This board is designed to be driven by an Olimex ESP32-POE, ESP32-POE-ISO or Wemos D1 Mini modules running Tasmota. In case the Wemos D1 Mini is used, the number of inputs and outputs will be limited to 4 each.

The design considers that the board will be mounted on a PCB DIN rail holder. The dimensions consider the holders offered by the Brazilian manufacturer Metaltex, check here for details.

ESP-relay-6ch: common questions

What microcontroller does the ESP-relay-6ch use?

The ESP-relay-6ch is built around the ESP32-POE, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the ESP-relay-6ch PCB?

The ESP-relay-6ch measures 173 × 67.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ESP-relay-6ch?

109 components, from 29 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ESP-relay-6ch design files?

From the koson/ESP-relay-6ch repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ESP-relay-6ch design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with koson. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the ESP-relay-6ch without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
