Nixiesp12: common questions
What microcontroller does the Nixiesp12 use?
The Nixiesp12 is built around the ESP8266, from the ESP8266 family.
How big is the Nixiesp12 PCB?
The Nixiesp12 measures 167.6 × 50.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the Nixiesp12?
59 components, from 18 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the Nixiesp12 design files?
From the laurivosandi/nixiesp12 repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the Nixiesp12 design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with laurivosandi. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the Nixiesp12 without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
