About the RepeaterDMX PCB

RepeaterDMX is an open source ESP32 PCB design by llextv, published on GitHub. It is a board, with 9 components from 8 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the MAX485E and LM393DR2G. By type, the board carries 4 ICs, 4 connectors and 1 transformer.

From the project

A DIY DMX recorder and repeater designed to record and replay one complete DMX universe.

A DIY DMX recorder and repeater designed to record and replay one complete DMX universe.

This project provides a compact, low-cost and reproducible solution capable of recording DMX lighting shows to a microSD card and replaying them through a DMX output.

The system also includes LTC timecode input, allowing recorded lighting shows to be synchronized with an external show-control or audio system.

RepeaterDMX: common questions

What microcontroller does the RepeaterDMX use?

The RepeaterDMX is built around the ESP32-S3, from the ESP32 family.

How many components are on the RepeaterDMX?

9 components, from 8 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the RepeaterDMX design files?

From the llextv/RepeaterDMX repository on GitHub, which has the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the RepeaterDMX design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with llextv. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the RepeaterDMX without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
