A custom PCB implementation of rednblkx/HomeKey-ESP32 that brings Apple HomeKey NFC unlocking into a form factor small enough to hide behind your existing wall plate.
This project is a hardware redesign of the excellent HomeKey-ESP32 firmware by @rednblkx. Instead of using a separate development board wired to a breakout PN532 module, everything is integrated onto a single, compact PCB.

HomeKey-ESP32: common questions
What microcontroller does the HomeKey-ESP32 use?
The HomeKey-ESP32 is built around the ESP32-C3-WROOM-02, from the ESP32 family.
How big is the HomeKey-ESP32 PCB?
The HomeKey-ESP32 measures 41.6 × 47.3 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the HomeKey-ESP32?
69 components, from 32 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the HomeKey-ESP32 design files?
From the lollokara/HomeKey-ESP32-PCB repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the HomeKey-ESP32 design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with lollokara. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the HomeKey-ESP32 without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
