Devkit for LED strips, with wide range of voltage inputs, and options for current limited outputs

Hardware design files for the Lux et Tenebris Devkit - an ESP32-based LED controller development board with integrated OLED display, WS2812B LED channels, and multiple output configurations.

The Lux et Tenebris hardware consists of custom PCB designs created in KiCad, providing a compact platform for controlling addressable LEDs, RGB strips, and other lighting applications. The board integrates power management and some I/O expansion ports.

Lux et pcb-V2: common questions

What microcontroller does the Lux et pcb-V2 use?

The Lux et pcb-V2 is built around the ESP32-WROOM-32, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Lux et pcb-V2?

The Lux et pcb-V2 measures 80 × 54 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Lux et pcb-V2?

83 components, from 38 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Lux et pcb-V2 design files?

From the machadoleonardo94/lux-et-tenebris repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Lux et pcb-V2 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with machadoleonardo94. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Lux et pcb-V2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
