About the Ei O T PCB

Ei O T is an open source ESP32 PCB design by mayermakes, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 44.6 × 105.4 mm, with 14 components from 11 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S2-WROOM, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the MCP1825S. By type, the board carries 5 resistors, 4 connectors, 2 ICs, 2 capacitors and 1 diode.

It belongs with the dev boards & breakouts and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

Breadboard Friendly ESP32-S2 Development Kit / Breakout

All EI.O.T Boards are manufactured in either Europe or USA. There are NO genuine Boards made in Asia, and there probably never will be. This is necessary to ensure quality and safety for the applications developed with our Development Kits and breakout boards. USB-OTG functionality is built in Hardware wise. The Board can be assembled in two ways allowing dominantly left and right handed Developers to optimally use it, also by flipping it upside down you can choose to have the USB cable stick out the top or bottom.

Ei O T: common questions

What microcontroller does the Ei O T use?

The Ei O T is built around the ESP32-S2-WROOM, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Ei O T PCB?

The Ei O T measures 44.6 × 105.4 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Ei O T?

14 components, from 11 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Ei O T design files?

From the mayermakes/Ei_O_T repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Ei O T design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which mayermakes chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Ei O T without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
