About the ErgoSHIFT-rgb PCB

ErgoSHIFT-rgb is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by mizma, published on GitHub under the CC-BY-SA-4.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 233.2 × 147.7 mm, with 81 components from 19 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the TLV73333PDBV and W25Q128JVS. By type, the board carries 31 capacitors, 18 switches, 15 diodes, 9 resistors, 3 ICs and 1 crystal.

It belongs with the displays & leds designs in this gallery.

ergoSHIFT rev RGB ========================================================================

This is a RGB rev of the ergoSHIFT. In this version, RGB LEDs were added to each Kailh button and can be assembled onto the board by JLCPCB (or another fab house), similar to the other SMT parts.

The firmware from the Original GP2040-CE website will work along with enabling the RGB LED via the GP2040-CE Web Configurator. You may also use the firmware in the Firmware Directory which support original OLED display layout.

ErgoSHIFT-rgb: common questions

What microcontroller does the ErgoSHIFT-rgb use?

The ErgoSHIFT-rgb is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the ErgoSHIFT-rgb PCB?

The ErgoSHIFT-rgb measures 233.2 × 147.7 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the ErgoSHIFT-rgb?

81 components, from 19 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the ErgoSHIFT-rgb design files?

From the mizma/ergoSHIFT repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the ErgoSHIFT-rgb design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its CC-BY-SA-4.0 license, which mizma chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the ErgoSHIFT-rgb without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
