About the Robot controller PCB

Robot controller is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by mohan-bee, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 70 × 60 mm, with 75 components from 38 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the W25Q16JVSSIQ, AP2112K-3.3, DRV8871DDA and LSM6DS3. By type, the board carries 26 capacitors, 24 resistors, 13 connectors, 6 ICs, 3 diodes and 2 switches.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

A side-by-side tscircuit and KiCad viewer

A minimal benchmark viewer for comparing the same AI-generated circuit across tscircuit and KiCad. Filter by model and complexity, then switch both tool columns between PCB and schematic snapshots.

The tscircuit column embeds the RunFrame preview with PCB, schematic, 3D, assembly, pinout, BOM, Circuit JSON, and error tabs, plus its File menu and fullscreen control. It loads the saved benchmark output without exposing a code tab. PCB and schematic selections stay synchronized with the comparison tabs; other RunFrame views stay within the tscircuit column.

Robot controller: common questions

What microcontroller does the Robot controller use?

The Robot controller is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Robot controller PCB?

The Robot controller measures 70 × 60 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Robot controller?

75 components, from 38 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Robot controller design files?

From the mohan-bee/tscircuit-gpt-benchmark repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Robot controller design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with mohan-bee. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Robot controller without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
