About the Golden rp2040 usb hid PCB

Golden rp2040 usb hid is an open source RP2040/RP2350 PCB design by mrcha033, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 65 × 30 mm, with 31 components from 20 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family. Other key parts include the AP2112K-3.3TRG1 and W25Q16JVSSIQ. By type, the board carries 18 capacitors, 6 resistors, 3 ICs, 2 connectors, 1 crystal and 1 diode.

From the project

Agentic hardware co-design: brief to KiCad, firmware, 3D review, and explicit fabrication blockers.

This is the first deliberately simple hw-codesign golden-board candidate. It is intended to become a physically brought-up reference board, but the current snapshot is not fabrication-qualified and has not been ordered.

- The current spec schema passes with zero errors. - The resolved graph contains 31 manufacturer-identified components and 24 named nets. - A real KiCad schematic is generated with 36 intentional no-connect markers; native KiCad ERC passes with zero violations. - The tscircuit layout places all 31 components with parity, emits 91 traces, and reports zero PCB validation…

Golden rp2040 usb hid: common questions

What microcontroller does the Golden rp2040 usb hid use?

The Golden rp2040 usb hid is built around the RP2040, from the RP2040/RP2350 family.

How big is the Golden rp2040 usb hid PCB?

The Golden rp2040 usb hid measures 65 × 30 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1 mm thick.

How many components are on the Golden rp2040 usb hid?

31 components, from 20 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Golden rp2040 usb hid design files?

From the mrcha033/hw-codesign repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Golden rp2040 usb hid design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which mrcha033 chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Golden rp2040 usb hid without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RP2040/RP2350 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
