From the project

The KiCad project for the base mount for the "Junkstation" PS2 portable project

This is a dump of the KiCad project for the Junkstation PS2 project I made a few years ago. I'm really just backing it up for prosperity. I'm taking no responsibility for this and it really should be used only as reference.

It's worth noting that there are a couple of mistakes on the board that I haven't fixed: -The Ethernet wiring for the Mango isn't correct, and troubleshooting it was exceedingly difficult, so much so that I didn't write it down when I got it right, I just put the lid on it -The Ethernet lines for the Mango shouldn't be pulled down to Ground but pulled to the "R0" pin on…

PS2BaseMount: common questions

What microcontroller does the PS2BaseMount use?

The PS2BaseMount is built around the PIC16F18876-I_PT, from the PIC family.

How big is the PS2BaseMount PCB?

The PS2BaseMount measures 273 × 146 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PS2BaseMount?

86 components, from 61 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PS2BaseMount design files?

From the MRKane05/PS2BaseMount repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PS2BaseMount design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with MRKane05. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the PS2BaseMount without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug PIC firmware against it before you order a PCB.
