About the Bridge PCB

Bridge is an open source ESP32 PCB design by nichtrami, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 131.8 × 51.8 mm, with 14 components from 12 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-DEVKITC-32U, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the USR-ES1, SN75176AP, TEA1-0505, ADUM1201ARZ and 6N137. By type, the board carries 8 ICs, 4 connectors and 2 resistors.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and displays & leds designs in this gallery.

From the project

A LED Tube that works wireless and runs on a ESP32 with Arduino Framework

The codebase builds two different devices from the same sources, selected via the DEVICEMODE build flag in platformio.ini`:

Datasheets for the components used are not redistributed in this repository. The part numbers are given in the schematics and can be looked up on the manufacturers' sites.

Each tube occupies TUBEDATASETSIZE (4) channels: effect, red, green, blue.

Bridge: common questions

What microcontroller does the Bridge use?

The Bridge is built around the ESP32-DEVKITC-32U, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Bridge PCB?

The Bridge measures 131.8 × 51.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Bridge?

14 components, from 12 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Bridge design files?

From the nichtrami/led_tube repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Bridge design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which nichtrami chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Bridge without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
