ISOBlue Hardware, Avena software, and Deployment Files

The AvenaShield is an expansion board designed to give the Lattepanda CAN and LTE connectivity to be used as an IoT device on ag machines. This board includes two CAN ports, based on the open source hardware board CANtact, and a MiniPCI Express port to connect LTE modems.

Isoblue: common questions

What microcontroller does the Isoblue use?

The Isoblue is built around the STM32F042C6Tx, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Isoblue PCB?

The Isoblue measures 115 × 78 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Isoblue?

114 components, from 50 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Isoblue design files?

From the oats-center/isoblue repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Isoblue design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MIT license, which oats-center chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Isoblue without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
