A small, open hardware DMM

This is the PCB design and code for a 4.5 digit DMM/ instrumentation module. It is designed and written primairly for Arduino-style development boards.

I've developed this DMM in my work testing and troubleshooting electronics to make my life easier.

I've had Deep-Wiki index my documentation. It did a mostly okay job. You can read its summary here: [](https://deepwiki.com/oihdesigns/Micro-DMM)

NametagVoltmeter: common questions

What microcontroller does the NametagVoltmeter use?

The NametagVoltmeter is built around the Arduino_Nano_ESP32, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the NametagVoltmeter PCB?

The NametagVoltmeter measures 88.9 × 50.8 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the NametagVoltmeter?

66 components, from 50 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the NametagVoltmeter design files?

From the oihdesigns/Micro-DMM repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the NametagVoltmeter design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with oihdesigns. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the NametagVoltmeter without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
