About the Osc dev v006 PCB

Osc dev v006 is an open source STM32 PCB design by OpenServoCore, published on GitHub under the Apache-2.0 license. It is a 6-layer board measuring 50 × 40 mm, with 82 components from 39 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the STM32F301K8UX, from the STM32 family. Other key parts include the DRV8231ADSGR and SSP7615-33DFR. By type, the board carries 11 connectors, 4 LEDs, 3 ICs, 1 jumper and 1 resistor.

It belongs with the robotics & motion and power & battery designs in this gallery.

From the project

The goal of this project is to create an open servo controller board and firmware.

This is the OpenServoCore firmware development and validation board. It is built around the CH32V006F8P6 and designed to accept any gutted hobby servo (SG90, MG90, and similar), so firmware can be brought up and characterized against real motor / pot / encoder hardware.

The render predates the 2A refresh, so the connector set on it is one revision behind the schematic.

Osc dev v006: common questions

What microcontroller does the Osc dev v006 use?

The Osc dev v006 is built around the STM32F301K8UX, from the STM32 family.

How big is the Osc dev v006 PCB?

The Osc dev v006 measures 50 × 40 mm, has 6 copper layers and is 1.6268 mm thick.

How many components are on the Osc dev v006?

82 components, from 39 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Osc dev v006 design files?

From the OpenServoCore/open-servo-core repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Osc dev v006 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which OpenServoCore chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Osc dev v006 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug STM32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
