Its main chip is the CH32V006F8U6, from the RISC-V family. Other key parts include the DRV8231ADSGR, DRV8837 and 74LVC2G241GS,115. By type, the board carries 9 capacitors, 9 resistors, 4 ICs, 1 module and 1 inductor.

It belongs with the robotics & motion designs in this gallery.

From the project

The goal of this project is to create an open servo controller board and firmware.

OpenServoCore swap board for SG90-class hobby servos. Compact, double-sided, designed to physically replace the factory PCB inside an SG90 case. CH32V006-based, single-wire TTL servo bus (osc-native protocol), drop-in mechanical fit.

- MCU — CH32V006F8U6 (RISC-V, 48 MHz, 62 KB flash, 8 KB RAM). - Motor driver — TI DRV8837 H-bridge (1.8 A peak, IN1/IN2 PWM). - LDO — TPAP2210K-3.3, 3.3 V logic rail. - UART buffer — SN74LVC1G07 open-drain for the half-duplex TTL bus. - Current shunt — 25 mΩ, 1 % on the low side. - Power input — 3.3-8.4 V (1S-2S LiPo) via the servo cable. - Debug — 4-pad SWD…

Osc sg90-v006: common questions

What microcontroller does the Osc sg90-v006 use?

The Osc sg90-v006 is built around the CH32V006F8U6, from the RISC-V family.

How big is the Osc sg90-v006 PCB?

The Osc sg90-v006 measures 20.6 × 9.6 mm, has 4 copper layers and is 1 mm thick.

How many components are on the Osc sg90-v006?

26 components, from 20 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Osc sg90-v006 design files?

From the OpenServoCore/open-servo-core repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Osc sg90-v006 design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its Apache-2.0 license, which OpenServoCore chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Osc sg90-v006 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug RISC-V firmware against it before you order a PCB.
