About the ClimateController PCB
ClimateController is an open source ESP8266 PCB design by Pablo-Ortiz-Lopez, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 58.4 × 47.8 mm, with 22 components from 15 distinct parts.
Its main chip is the ESP-12F, from the ESP8266 family. Other key parts include the DHT11 and AMS1117-3.3. By type, the board carries 7 resistors, 5 connectors, 3 ICs, 3 capacitors, 2 diodes and 1 transistor.
It belongs with the iot & wireless, displays & leds and sensors designs in this gallery.
From the project
ESP8266 based device which handles the climate of a room.
This is my attempt at creating a climate controller for my IOT platform.
This repository contains everything you need to build and customize your very own ESP8266-based climate controller.
Whether you want to monitor temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, control a thermostat, manage appliances with a relay, or even handle IR-based air conditioning units, the ClimateController has you covered.

ClimateController: common questions
What microcontroller does the ClimateController use?
The ClimateController is built around the ESP-12F, from the ESP8266 family.
How big is the ClimateController PCB?
The ClimateController measures 58.4 × 47.8 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.
How many components are on the ClimateController?
22 components, from 15 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.
Where can I download the ClimateController design files?
From the Pablo-Ortiz-Lopez/ClimateController repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout and the schematic; the links under Design files point to each one.
Can I use the ClimateController design in my own project?
The repository has no license, so all rights stay with Pablo-Ortiz-Lopez. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.
Can I test firmware for the ClimateController without the hardware?
Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP8266 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
