About the Dropsense reciever v2 PCB

Dropsense reciever v2 is an open source ESP32 PCB design by ParthDhiman32, published on GitHub. It is a 2-layer board measuring 48 × 63.5 mm, with 29 components from 18 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the TP4056-42-ESOP8 and ME6211C33M5. By type, the board carries 11 resistors, 8 capacitors, 3 ICs, 3 connectors and 2 diodes.

It belongs with the power & battery and iot & wireless designs in this gallery.

From the project

i am creating a product with two parts which you drop from a height and it calculates the height from which you dropped it using pure physics and electronics!!

Dropsense is a wireless embedded system project which logs and transmits data in real time what type of data exactly?- it transmits the height from which it is dropped, the time period of the drop and the maximum Gforce which the device accelerated to during the impact .

Basically it consists of two parts the sender and the reciever

This devise has hexagonal walls because they are better at abosrbing impacts!

Dropsense reciever v2: common questions

What microcontroller does the Dropsense reciever v2 use?

The Dropsense reciever v2 is built around the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the Dropsense reciever v2 PCB?

The Dropsense reciever v2 measures 48 × 63.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Dropsense reciever v2?

29 components, from 18 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Dropsense reciever v2 design files?

From the ParthDhiman32/DropSense repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Dropsense reciever v2 design in my own project?

The repository has no license, so all rights stay with ParthDhiman32. Use it as a reference, and ask the author before reusing the design.

Can I test firmware for the Dropsense reciever v2 without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
