The KiCad project lives in the PDXostc/rvi_v2x_hardware repository on GitHub; these links point at the commit this page was built from.

Rvi v2x hardware: common questions

What microcontroller does the Rvi v2x hardware use?

The Rvi v2x hardware is built around the ATXMEGA128A4U-AU, from the AVR/Arduino family.

How big is the Rvi v2x hardware PCB?

The Rvi v2x hardware measures 85 × 56 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the Rvi v2x hardware?

186 components, from 81 distinct parts. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the Rvi v2x hardware design files?

From the PDXostc/rvi_v2x_hardware repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the Rvi v2x hardware design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its MPL-2.0 license, which PDXostc chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the Rvi v2x hardware without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug AVR/Arduino firmware against it before you order a PCB.
