About the PCB

PCB is an open source ESP32 PCB design by Pegoku, published on GitHub under the GPL-3.0 license. It is a 2-layer board measuring 70 × 104.5 mm, with 46 components from 22 distinct parts.

Its main chip is the ESP32-C3-WROOM-02, from the ESP32 family. Other key parts include the IQS7222A001QNR, IRM-20-24 and AP63203WU. By type, the board carries 19 resistors, 14 capacitors, 5 connectors, 4 ICs, 2 switches and 1 inductor.

It belongs with the iot & wireless and sensors designs in this gallery.

From the project

Smart esp32-powered desk lamp

This is a home assistant controlled CWWW desk lamp with capacitive touch buttons, made with ESPHome and ESP32-C3.

I made this project as I wanted to learn more about capacitive touch sensors and how to use them with ESPHome. I also wanted to make a simple desk lamp that could be controlled with Home Assistant.

- Capacitive touch buttons to control the brightness and color temperature of the LEDs. - Home Assistant integration.

PCB: common questions

What microcontroller does the PCB use?

The PCB is built around the ESP32-C3-WROOM-02, from the ESP32 family.

How big is the PCB?

The PCB measures 70 × 104.5 mm, has 2 copper layers and is 1.6 mm thick.

How many components are on the PCB?

46 components, from 22 distinct parts, with part numbers taken from the project's own BOM. The full bill of materials is listed on this page.

Where can I download the PCB design files?

From the Pegoku/Smart-desk-lamp repository on GitHub, which has the KiCad layout, the schematic and the BOM; the links under Design files point to each one.

Can I use the PCB design in my own project?

Yes, under the terms of its GPL-3.0 license, which Pegoku chose for the repository.

Can I test firmware for the PCB without the hardware?

Yes. HardLabs builds a simulation of the board from its netlist and BOM, so you can run and debug ESP32 firmware against it before you order a PCB.
